Why should I apply for this programme? What benefits does a Hungarian passport entail?

The EU Citizenship Programme by EU Passport allows you to travel, live and work visa-free and permit-free all over the European Union, including the United Kingdom. Since Hungary is a member of the EU, the Hungarian Citizenship/Passport can be termed as an EU citizenship. You have the option to live and work in all countries which are registered with the EU, including the United Kingdom. Furthermore, Hungarian citizens can travel visa-free to many countries outside the EU, including Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Canada, South Africa and many more. Also, Hungary has respectable foreign relations with almost all countries. Therefore, the Hungarian passport will help you get a visa to any other country where visa-free travel does not apply.

If I want to move to the EU with my family, can I add them in my application as well?

This programme by EU passport is beneficial for families or groups of people who wish to move to the EU to live or work, together. Multiple people can be added to an application, and after a background check, will receive a five-year residence permit to travel visa-free in the EU.

How soon can I get my residence permit?

Once the documents are submitted, it takes approximately 4-6 weeks for the residence permit to be available. It is important to note that this is approved provided there is no information withheld from the applicant’s end and there are no irregularities found in the background check.

Do I have to travel to Hungary or the process can be completed remotely?

The client does not have to travel to Hungary for the submission of applications and processing. However, once the process is complete, the client will have to fly to Hungary and complete the final formalities and acquire the resident permit.

Once I collect the resident permit, do I need to stay in the EU till I get my citizenship?

Once the resident permitted is collected, and the formalities are complete, there is no compulsion to live in Hungary till you get your citizenship. You can return to India and apply for citizenship from India only. However, for the final interview and all formalities to receive Hungarian citizenship, you will have to travel to Hungary.
